Which Sealant for Winnie Roof

I have some spots along the roof seam caulking that had to be removed and I am about to replace the caulking I used as it is the wrong stuff. It was a very urgent job on the road and now I have time to replace with something better.

My three choices are;
Dicor Non-leveling
Sikaflex 715 or 505
Winnebago, Part #072889-20-000

I am pretty sure even Winnebago used a brand name sealant rather than make their own but I'm not sure which one it is. I'll call Lichtsinn in a little while and ask but they aren't to helpful unless you're ordering.

I have ordered from them in the past and of course what I ordered does not come packaged so it didn't have a name but is was the same as the OEM butyl tape for the window frames. At least it was the same dimensions.
  • Go HERE and you can download the proper adhesive/sealants info for your motor home plus a lot of other stuff like wiring and plumbing diagrams.
    You can even download a complete parts list for your rig. As I recall you need your Winnebago ID number for that. It can found on the placard on the wall next to the drivers seat.
  • Thank you Clay but as I said one of the three sealant/caulking choices are x, y and Winnebago w/part number. Does your sealant schedule say who made it, mine doesn't. It only call out Type a and gives the part number. I want to do it tomorrow, I don't want to wait for Lichtsinn to ship it out.

    why not use eternabond and be done with it for the next 20 years.

    Thanks for the suggestion but Eternabont is not effective due to design of roof, not recommended by Mfg. and aesthetics. Aesthetics are important to many of us. I don't think it will last 20 years and besides it would be really ugly overlapping the graphics but TIMNTBHO(That Is My Never To Be Humble Opinion).

    I have used it when application was out of sight and had to replace after five or six years and I did follow the installation instructions to the letter.
