Sounds like you did a great job "letting go" and coaching her. Good for both of you!
For the past 20 or so years towing a TT my wife and I always trade of driving and think nothing of it. It really helps to avoid driver fatigue. Usually after every potty break or fuel fill up, we switch drivers when traveling any distance. And she very adept to backing into a campsite.:)
We were all beginner as one time, with a lot to learn through patience and more experience.;)
