Yep, some type of rodent.Had a family of flying squirrels living in wired storage building. They ate the sheath off the wires,yet somehow didn't get killed.

You comment made me curious, so I went looking, and it seems that rodents chew on random inedible objects because their teeth grow throughout their lives, and they need to wear them down.

Leaving tomorrow to go visit my sister in Colorado. She said to bring my .22 rifle as she is overrun with rabbits. I am taking my deceased Father's .22 rifle, and will leave it with her.

My mom was a great squirrel hunter and a better shot than I am. She knew how to cook squirrels too.
Can remember going squirrel hunting with her when I was a child and into adult age.

Well I guess when we go to their home, they feel we should feed them. We were in central Washington and noticed some tiny birds were busily building a nest in our refrigerator vent. They were so persistent we had to cover it with newspaper. Sorry about your hose. That could have been a real issue.

This summer we had that problem. We have a Weber Q and a two burner stove both connected to a 20lb tank with a Stansport propane tree. Same setup as last year, except this year the propane tank was off the ground, leaving the hoses to lay partially on the table.

I used hot pepper sauce on the lines after the squirrels chewed through one. Didn't have any trouble after that. Would like to have seen the squirrels reaction when he chewed on the hot pepper sauce :)

yeah, I had the squirrels eat my propane hoses too.. One thing I do now is leave the tank cover open at the house. They wont get in there with it open like they did when it was closed.

i never had turtle soup, but one of my neighbors did
as kids, we never caught any big river turtles, to use for food
little one became pets, or were released

and we were lucky, MOM was a fantastic cook

My step-father was an avid hunter and a crack shot. We always had squirrel
and pheasant in the freezer. My mother did wonders with squirrel and made
the best turtle soup.
