I simply use the standard trailer wire harness from NAPA and just clamp the extra lights to the bumper/tailgate.
no electrical modification needed. It's a 4 pole harness.
things to consider, does the steering wheel lock ? if not no worries If it does, unlock it and disconnect the battery.
next question, is the truck an automatic or stick? some auto transmissions can't be spun for a long time with out lubrication.
