I don't expect fireworks and a steak dinner for answering someone's question (if, by some miracle I actually do correctly answer a question), but it is nice to get a thank you. More importantly, their final results of using/not using suggestions may be useful to others that have a similiar situation in the future. What a resource that would be. Although, if everybody found an answer by doing a forum search, the forum wouldn't be a forum. It'd be a database. Where's the fun in that?
I read a quote a few weeks ago that's stuck in my head. I think it was on a bicycle forum. It doesn't really apply so much here, but I thought it was both hilarious and sad. Paraphrasing:
"I have a magic box that contains the wealth of the whole World's knowledge, but I use it to look at pictures of cats and to argue with strangers."
