At the last minute we decided to go camping this week-end. We are currently at Timberlane Family Campground (Good Sam campground) in Anderson, Indiana, only about 14 miles from our house. This is a NICE campground, and great for a quick week-end get away.

Work has been crazy. When you work in Information Technology, it runs in cycles you know. I finished one iteration Friday and a new iteration begins Monday, so for 2 full days, I can let my brain go dormant!

But what's really great about today! Well, it FINALLY quite raining in Indiana (after ... what ... a month of constant rain!)... and my wife and I are sitting outside, under the awning, using the park WIFI, and.... what's really GREAT!....???

I've been on RV.net almost all day! Reading, catching-up, posting, having the time of my life! It's nice to get on here and just read and have some time to actually enjoy it!

We'll be going home tomorrow (Sunday)... and yep! All that rain means the grass has grown. I'll be mowing grass tomorrow afternoon! But for the moment ... WOW! This is GREAT!

We are at Summit Lake State Park this weekend. After setting up camp in the torrential rains Indiana had Friday night it's been great again! Today is Saturday, site 9, full sun, put the quick shade up, enjoying RV.net again, soaking up this beautiful day. Took the dog for a walk by the lake earlier, people watchi g now, and was told by my boss at work i won't have any weekend coverage fesponsibilities for the next several weeks. Maybe life IS GOOD after all. We are planning to go some where next week end again.... ot sure where yet.

Enjoy this camping while we all can!

I know how you feel regarding the rain. it seems that it rained the entire month of may here in Oklahoma. I don't know how many records we set state wide.

enjoy the sunshine and safe travels!

Sounds like my exact situation only I have a girlfriend not a wife. :B

Not being on call was a good thing also.

We stayed at Rustic Knolls campground in Mt. Vernon, Ohio over the weekend. I am glad your stay was awesome also.

I can feel your excitement and am happy that you can enjoy a few special moments. We haven't camped in 2 weeks and it feels like forever. (It was only 2 days). In a week, we'll go for a week. I feel like a kid a Christmas.

A bad day in your rv still beats a good day at work. BUT a GREAT day in your rv is priceless.

We have a very similar situation here just 25 miles from where we live. The Westmoreland State park sitting on the shore of the Potomac River is great for us. We go there all the time.

When I was working I could go out there and get my camper all setup on Friday after work in just a short time. Then I go back to house and wait for the wife to get home pack up more of our stuff and head out there. Or the wife can do a quick drive out and meet up with me...

Spend the weekend with no hassle whatsoever... Wife can run back to the house if we forgot something or the kids needs something...

This is also where I do all of my CAMP GROUND testing of mods and things I come up with before heading out for the SMOKY MTNS near Gatlinburg or Blue Ridge parkway sites....

Westmoreland has both Electric sites or no hookups. Great place to check out my battery mods.

Good. When I did that, I couldn't stop thinking about my job, and would even call the office if I thought something wasn't working. I loved that job.
