I know plenty of folks who enjoy camping in TTs from 13' to 17'. DW and I started with a 23' with slide, then I replaced it with a 17', then a 16', then a hardsided popup. Small is good! It lets me get into small spaces and it's really easy to tow and maneuver.
All you really need in a trailer is a place to sleep, a place to sit (eating or otherwise), a place to cook, and (most would say) a bathroom. You can find all of that in a 16' TT.
It's funny, 10 years ago I said I was done tent camping, but next week I'm planning to go tent camping again and I am looking forward to it.
