- jmignExplorerWe stayed at the Virginian last year, it was nice. Little cramped, but in a private rv park pretty standard. We weren't at the camper for most of that part of the trip.
- KavoomExplorerI have nothing further to add.

Any one know of a good RV park in Jackson Hole area?
IN the town of Jackson is the Virginian but its lacks in many ways. Has all the amenities but basically it just sucks.
At the north end of the valley is Colter Bay CG and its pretty good.
Mid valley is Gros Ventre CG but you cant stay in tents many locations so you need something hard sided. ( pronunced Grow Vante) Its the most scenic of all the camping spots - Sully2Explorer

Be careful using the "Hole" word after Jackson when in that area. The rich Californians who have taken over are doing their best to remove that designation and are quite militant about it. You will be corrected quite often and be given a lecture by total strangers on why the "Hole" is inappropriate and really does not apply to the town as the hole is actually blah blah blah. The few isolated locals left will agree with you but they will look in both directions and speak low when doing so and tend to keep quiet these days. In 20 years that name will be nothing but a historical artifact and you will have to be worth seven figures to live there and all will be well with the world.
Montanans are quite concerned about similar dynamics occurring up here over time. There are many named places up here in danger... But hey my property values are skyrocketing...
The TOWN is Jackson....the area is JACKSON HOLE....simple as that regarless of what the right whatso ever's wish it to be. - KavoomExplorerBe careful using the "Hole" word after Jackson when in that area. - TexasShadowExplorer IIIf you don't need full hookups, the best campground near Jackson is Gros Ventre campground in the national park. it has water and a dump station, shade and views and rarely fills up.. try for early afternoon arrival. it is 7 miles from Jackson.
- kknowltonExplorer IIColter Bay RV Park - right inside GTNP, in the pines, FHUs. Depends on where you want to be - if you want to be in town, the Virginian is the place; if you want to be in the park, close to a view of the mountains, then you want to camp inside the park.
- Mandalay_ParrExplorerThe Virginian for one.
