Planning a winter trip to the Redwoods..

Looking for winter break this year, to take the kids to northern CA.

We found an RV park that has decent access to everything, Just wanted some other thoughts.

I have a 29' Trailer with a slide... (31' and change tongue to end)

I really want hookups.. but am not opposed to dry camping,

Split the drive in 2 From Ventura County to Morgan Hill the first day, then finish the trip the next day...

Here was park i was looking at. http://ancientredwoods.net

This will be a first semi-long trip with the kids.

thanks for your help,

Ben
  • If you are stopping in Morgan Hill, you can gas up at the Safeway on Tennant. If you have Safeway/Vons gas rewards, use them there. Next gas up for us is always the Safeway in Willits. You will enjoy Ancient Redwoods. Nice park. Even if it rains, the redwoods are worth it. We will be there (Albee Creek) on Thursday.
  • Ancient Redwoods park is a nice little park with paved pull thrus and back ins, right off Avenue of the Giants. Full hookups. Not sure about cable or wi-fi.
  • Bad time to visit IMHO you will see lots of rain and cold weather. Not the sort of weather to be outside or hiking the woods.
