We are searching for a campground that is cool in the summer that has certain requirements. We need 50 amp FHU, concrete slab, open in order to get satellite off the roof, allow to use in motorhome washer and dryer, with reasonable rates. We are a 39' class A diesel, 2015 model. Any help will be greatly appreciated and acknowledged.

New England and Up state NY have tons of seasonal campgrounds. They shut down in winter so homesteaders aren't an issue. Won't get into particular camp grounds but its a heck of a lot cooler than NC!

Cool in the summer, FHU and open for satellite reception. Park up on the hill.
Meadows of Dan CG, Meadows of Dan, Va. Right on the Blue Ridge Parkway
Very reasonable prices. No concrete pads however.

We will still check out the SP since we will be rather close when we are at Maxwell Gunter AFB.

Call the SP directly, I see many RV's that spend the entire summer there. We stay there the first week of June and usually the second week of August. There is always several RV's that are in the same place in August that werw there in June.

They are also always looking for work campers if that is something you are interested in.

BarabooBob, thanks for the info. It is hard to find a seasonal, that is why I'm reaching out to RV Net. I know campgrounds are wary of homesteaders and to safeguard themselves, they set a limit.

HalmFamily, thank you for the suggestion. We will be at Maxwell-Gunter FamCamp for a week and will drive up to Alexander City to check out the State Park Campground. Sounds like what we are looking for. My concern and will find out is if you can stay for several months. Thanks again!

SDcampowneroperator, I didn't say we wouldn't pay our own electric. I said we wanted FHU meaning 50 amp, water and sewer. I will not lower my expectations. We prefer concrete and very much dislike gravel. When I said reasonable rates, I meant I didn't want $75/$100 per day on a monthly rate. $1000.00 is only $33.33 per day. THAT is VERY reasonable. Don't jump to conclusions when you don't know the people you are talking to. We are retired military and stay in VERY nice FamCamps and that is why we end up in Montana. Would like something NICE a little closer.

A prime location in prime season, prime site, Concrete slab, sat. friendly, unlimited utility use.
For what reasonable fee?
I do not know of any camp that would be able or wish to host you for less than 1K/ mo. plus elec.
Lower your expectations or be prepared to pay your own elec. will open a lot of nice places to you. Why concrete, Whats wrong with gravel?

Wind Creek SP in Alexander City, AL has everything you're looking for and your site is right on the lake. Sixty minutes north or south and you'll find every restaurant and store you could need.

I agree that the Door County area of Wisconsin is great in the summer. I have never had a terrible time with bugs either. I live in WI, about 200 miles from there and we try to get up there for a week every year. There are many wineries, museums, distilleries, kayak tours, etc in the area.

Egg Harbor Campground and RV Resort. Egg Harbor, WI. A few years ago they put in concrete pads and patios. The area with these sites is not wooded. I can't answer the question about washer, you'd have to call them. They do answer the phone as they are in Florida this time of year.

Egg Harbor is in the Door County peninsula in WI. That's the "thumb" of WI. It's on the Green Bay side. It never gets real hot there. Lots to do, lots of good places to eat if you like doing that.

Look for higher elevations from Asheville NC toward Johnson City Tn.
You will find temps more moderate above 1500 preferably around 2000+ foot elevations.
In thinking about it ,,, Boone NC is also a possibility 3300' elevation keeps their summers pretty moderate.

Have not stayed here, but you got me to thinking maybe I should, so I searched a little, found this one.

Good luck.
