Which CG in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg with Grandkids

We'll be heading to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg the first couple of weeks of August. We'll have 3 of our grandkids - 8, 6 and 5 years old. We are traveling in a 45' MH. Would like a CG on the trolley. Looking for the best CG and ideas for things to do in the area.

Thanks for the guidance. I have made reservations for creekside at Pine Mountain. We plan on bringing the grandkids to Dollywood, the Titantic exhibit and Cades Cove. Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
You made a good choice in my opinion. While there are many campgrounds in the area each pretty much meets what you want to do. With the youngins this place will earn its money. The showers, rest rooms you will admire and makes it easier with children. The trolley stops across the street at the hotel. Same people own both the campground and hotel. Bad weather no problem just walk across the street and enjoy the pool there. Inside. The owner stopped by our site shortly after the place opened and we had a good chat. Asked several questions good/bad etc. about the place. Small sites but it is near town. The creek side sites have more room. Enjoy your stay and have fun with the grand kids. Larry

  • River Plantation in Sevierville is the one we like. So much to do you won't have time or money to do it all. The trolly runs from Sevierville all the way to Gatlinburg.
  • Pine Mountain. We have 2 daughters, 9 and 6 and we LOVE Pine Mountain. It has no playground, but has the outdoor pool, indoor pool and lazy river pool (at the hotel) as well as the creek. It's located in a great location that makes getting to the sites with ease.
  • Trollies run through; Creekside, Claboughs, Pine Mountain (across the street from) Mill Creek, Twin Mountain and Riveredge. Pine Mountain is the newest and nicest,Creekside and Riveredge both are clean and well kept.

we usually go to ELKMONT inside the Natl Park but it doesnt have hookups. WHen we really want to blend in with Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge shopping crowd we always go to RIVEREDGE just as you come into Pigeon Forge from Gatlinburg. It is a great very clean camp central to everything and does have the trolly stop. Actually ELKMONT inside the Natl Park also has the Trolly stop.

RIVEREDGE has a nice pool and game room and really nice folks that run it... FREE WIFI wasn't all that good but worked.

While you guys are there please make time for the CADES COVE motor trail run inside the NATL PARK at DUSK. Kids will love seeing the Horses, deers, and maybe even a bear on the trail. One year we saw a couple of wild pigs...
