ACL Update

A quick update on Lucie's surgery. Lucie had her surgery on the 30th. She is doing so much better now even though we have to keep her limited on the walking for about two more weeks. After her stitches are removed she will be able to start walking more but still limited somewhat. It takes about 8 weeks for her to be near complete recovery but it is all well worth it. Vets did a great job.

Glad to hear Lucie is doing so well.:) Rosie had a pin and assorted hardware installed with her ACL repair. I guess she felt it enough that she never tried any fancy jumps after that. She could get on the sofa and off, but she was careful about it. The only noticeable difference was that her surgery leg was at a different angle from the other leg when she sat on her haunches.

Great news about Lucie! Today we are 3 weeks post-op for Rascal's bilateral ACL surgery. The stitches are out and the awful cone is off. I will say that it is pretty exhausting to keep his activity restricted all the time. As he feels better, he wants to walk around the house freely and not be on the leash or crated all the time. Constant vigilance is the name of the game... for another 5 weeks at least. I hope Lucie's recovery will be steady and easy.

Good news, but eight weeks for complete recovery...I would caution you to be very careful and don't let her extend herself for up to a year. She could easily reinjure it.
All I'm saying is gradually work back up to where you were pre injury.
