Capstar

We're day boarding Andy at a few vets for doggie daycare while we see the sights out west - I don't feel comfortable leaving him alone and unsupervised while we're out and about. One of the facilities uses Capstar for flea control, and they give it to every pet who comes in for day boarding. Andy had Frontline Plus applied April 23 and he does not have any fleas (it's just been too darn cold up here, folks). The facility says that is their procedure and that this product is very safe and will not cause any reactions and would be out of his system the next day. Has anyone had any experience with this? Dr. Doug, if you're not busy, could you please advise? Thanks again in advance to all who respond.

  • Its great stuff for a fast kill of fleas. You can see fleas start to die and fall off in just a few minutes. We dont seem to have much trouble with fleas. I think they are too scared to jump on my Rottweiler. :) Anyweay. If we do get a breakout of fleas once a year or so we use this stuff to get rid of them quick.
