This evening, wife called me to supper.
Dakota, however daughter spells it, came to me and licked my elbow. When I wouldn't give him attention he flipped my elbow, with his nose, over and over until I got up and went to the table.
he didn't beg but laid at my feet. He knew I would save him a bit from my plate.
Took some meatloaf to his food bowl.
Minutes before as she sat the table he tried to gently grab my arm, I guess to get me to go to the table.
When she called me he decided to let me know to go to the table in no uncertain terms.
Dog has been playing dumber than he is all these years.
Maybe I need to set his bowl in the corner of the dinning room or at my foot and just include him.
I may ask him to say grace. 🙂
if it hadn't been for him last year, we might be pushing up daises, when someone entered the front door, and promptly left for he was going to get them, before we knew what was happening.

I say you have a real keeper there with Dakota. Smart one, he is. Knows what side his popcorn is buttered on and protects it too!

Wife and I joke all the time about the scene in Moonstruck where they are in the kitchen and Cher's mother says: "Old man, you give those dogs another piece of my food, I'm going to kick you until you die".

Of course we feed our dog from the table. DW says: "our mothers would be appalled."
