I lost another Grand-dog
Spot was a huge beast - a cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a Standard Poodle. Never met a person he didn't immediately love....LOL! Watched his humans marry, and was gentle with the children...

So sorry Deb. What a wonderful family dog, I know he'll be missed.
The situation reminded me of our Buddy, lab/husky (we think) mix who came to us when his owner developed alzheimer's, did the weight loss, slow down, exercise intolerance. Amanda had just died so we chose to go a little while but after about a month and a wonderful vacation, he told us it was time. Chest full of golf ball sized tumors, it was really amazing that he was walking at all.
We know how you all feel right now, the remembering softens the blow as time goes on. The good times really occupy almost all of our thoughts, and smiles come with the memories.
