Nabi?

Glad to see you posting! Where are you in the continent switching process? Are you still planning a move to Ecuador? Bet I'm not the only one wondering how you and "the wees" are doing. so I'll ask here instead of PM. Hope all is well.
  • My parents lived in Costa Rica for six years after retirement. They really enjoyed it there and it is a lot more stable than some other parts of South America.
  • Good to know, it can be a bit unsettling for sure, the world has just gone a little crazy lately.
The Wees certainly look adorable as always!

  • Hi all... We are still trying desperately to sell our home..if we lower the price anymore we will be giving it away..so discouraging...the market is so soft...our original immigration paperwork has became outdated so we are starting all over again ...but..we are still hopeful...we are moving to South America ...the recent problems in the US seem to be from immigrants from Central America...but SA does have it's own issues...the little lakeside town I am originally from just had a home invasion and the owner killed...never thought I would see something like that but the world is a dangerous place anymore...you need to keep your wits about you everywhere...
The wees are well...Izzy has some issues with her heart but a day of complete rest seems to get her energy levels back up...thanks for thinking of us
Will let you know if and when we finally sell and move on to our next chapter of our lives...

On the other hand, NBC nightly news with Brian Williams had a story on late last week touting the benefits for seniors to spend their retirement years there as it is so much cheaper to live there, their American dollars will go so much further.
So is it a corrupt, gang infested country or is it a retirement dream come true.
Have to admit the pictures they showed and the retirees they interviewed it did look pretty nice.

I saw that NBC segment on Ecuador, also. I was surprised to hear that it is called "The Paris of S America." Yes, the place looks beautiful. Although I'd be concerned about surrounding countries. In these times, though, no location is what we used to think of as "safe." We do have friends who moved to Costa Rica some years ago and they love it there. Her modest retirement pension supports them in a style they'd never have here, but they are both native Spanish speakers.

Let us know how you all are, Nabi, when you get a chance.
