- Code2HighExplorerNot State Senator. Senator. He is the junior senator from AZ. McCain being senior.
Arpaio runs a shelter as part of the sheriff's dept. He recently took a condemned pit that had mauled a four year old.... Mickey had to be defanged per the court, but will live out his days at the shelter.
And I'm pretty sure he's no respecter of persons. He said at his press conference that necropsies would be done.
We'll still have to wait and see, but to me this seems quite promising in terms of real action being taken. - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIThis is a residential home being used to border dogs..not a kennel.
Yes the 'adults' left in charge are the daughter of the home owner and her husband who is Sen. Flake's son.
In a statement from sheriffs office it was mentioned that someones sir name was not a defense and that this incident would be fully investigated.
Crystal ball.........nothing will come of it - UppercrustExplorerHow sad and tragic. We are lucky that our dogs do not need to be boarded, gramma loves to watch ours when we need someone.

Ugh....watched video. It said 20 of 28 dogs left in a ten by ten room were dead. Apparently many of them were left loose.
Good Lord! That many dogs packed into a room that size could overheat in December. In Michigan. Didn't people look at the facilities before they left their dogs??
My question is, since this area is part of the house. Why did they use a window ac unit to cool this side of the home? Anyways, IMO there are many other questions that need to be addressed.

I didn't see any chihuahuas in the bunch. That's about the only size you could reasonably put 28 of in a ten by ten room.
Love him or hate him on other levels, Arpaio is a dog lover and I think they should not be expecting his department to take this lightly.
Didn't know that about Sherif Arpaio, but it will be interesting how this will play out Susan. Especially since the owner's relatives (which has been confirmed) was their daughter and husband, Austin Flake. Son of Arizona State Senator Jeff Flake.

There is a lawyer, John Schill who is working Pro Bono representing one family. If more lawyers step in, this will IMO difficult to sweep, or make less of then the Neglect of Responsibility and Atrocity (?) which how these dogs died.

Btw, I don't watch TV so I found out about this when I read this thread, after which it bothered me the whole night. My heart sunk to the deepest of sympathy for the dogs and their families. - Code2HighExplorerUgh....watched video. It said 20 of 28 dogs left in a ten by ten room were dead. The owner is whining that their house could have burned down. Yes, it could have. As it is, their irresponsibility just killed seventeen dogs. - HappytravelerExplorer

The article says the A/C went out during the night. That seems odd that all those dogs would die.... I would bet they were ignored alot longer than overnight?
That's exactly what I was thinking. It cools down at night.
Still hot, not as bad during the night (still pretty hot) in Arizona. For crying out loud they should of had a backup generator or a better air conditioner, especially caring for that many dogs in the business they were in. - Deb_and_Ed_MExplorer IIThe article says the A/C went out during the night.
