Seems like the older I get, the harder, I take a dogs passing. DD's dog just passed this AM. died at home, I suspect a heart attack.
Although probably only saw him 1X month or so lately, saw him a lot more when he was younger.

Passing at home is good with her, and Hubby, holding him, but darn I will miss that dog, charging through my front door to play with my dog.

Bad news is my dog Lab/ mix is going on 14, he is not far behind.

Just sad, thanks for reading

I have a dog and an elderly cat who is going downhill. It will be very hard to make the decision, she is so affectionate and wonderful company but I will not let her suffer. My wife passed recently, these two fur kids are helping me hang on to what little sanity I have left.

🙂 Hi, sorry for your loss. 😞

We had four dogs, two at a time. The one who lived the longest made it to 12.5 years old. After my parents passed, their dog, Dusty adopted us. He was 13.5 years old at the time. Because I felt that he was on borrowed time, and we thought he could go any day. Dusty lived to be just short of 19 years old. Right now we remain petless. (and it still hurts)

This thread just makes me sad. My Wheaten terrier is 13 and I suspect I will be facing this issue in the not distant future.....??

Charlie was on meds for congestive heart failure for over two years and he went down hill a few weeks ago. We were about 1400 miles from home and wanted him home to die. We only made it to VA where he passed. We brought him home and put him beside my last dog last week. He will be missed.

No one unless they are a dog owner how hard it is to lose a furry friend. I've lost two in the past 20 years. Our black lab was the hardest one to say good by to. I am sorry for your loss, all dogs go to heaven And they are waiting for us.
