We adopted an American.

And here he is. Meet Radar. 3 Kg of Chihuahua and a little min pin (we think).

He was found as a stray in San Bernadino in the first week of June. He was brought to a shelter where they were overloaded and made available to a Canadian adoption agency. He was flown to Canada where he was neutered, given all his shots and then had his teeth done. He is approximately two years old, excellently behaved and a great traveller. (He will have to be .) He seems to like his new home and after a week or so he is getting us trained the way he wants. I had always heard that Americans made good pets...and apparently they do. :)
  • What a cutie, just have to smile when I look at that face. Radar will bring you many hours of happiness, no doubt.
  • Too cute. Love those ears!!

Thnaks for adopting and being part of the solution rather than part of the problem.
  • Congratulaions and thank you. Shelter dogs rock! I wish many years of happiness.

Since Radar is from So Cal, don't be surprised if he says "You quiero Taco Bell." :B

We'll watch for that. We are headed for our place in Palm Springs in October so he'll be back in his old stomping grounds soon. :)

  • Thank you for rescuing him and giving him a good home. He looks like a terrific fellow.
  • What a great program! I knew a lot of small California dogs are getting sent to the Northeast part of the States but never heard of them escaping over the border. Be prepared for a lot of "What breed of dog is he?" Just tell them he's American and they'll understand. :W BTW, those ears look kind of Papillon. Have fun!
  • Congratulations on your new family member! Looks like a great addition.
