Weird question/weird dog

Augie is a few weeks away from being a year old - he's an energetic Australian Shepherd. A few weeks ago, I bought a "vibration platform" for some exercise and to help reduce Ed's swollen feet (it's working).

Augie LOVES the thing - whenever either of us are using it - he stands right there, too....LOL! I'm going to assume that it's fine - probably not as hard on his body as some of the antics that go on when he's playing with other dogs?

He's just one of those "Whatever you are doing, I want to do it, too" dogs. My previous Aussie Ike loved to ride on our SeaDoo - the faster/rougher, the better....
  • Herding breeds can have “unique” personalities and quirks

My Nell likes to stand under where the bedspread hangs off the bed and sway back and forth with the end of the bedspread brushing against her back and hips.

    Weird Nell
  • I can't imagine that this behavior would cause any problems. Weird yes, problem no.
  • Mark - that's pretty funny! Maybe she's covering herself with your scent?

Augie is at that age where he has to "help" with everything - today we put a door sweep on the bottom of the sunroom door. I dropped the screwdriver - he immediately picked it up and handed it to me. He's kind of handy to have around :-)
  • Not weird at all. Herding dogs become part of your pack. I now have a Border Collie, looking to get a Heeler. I love herding dogs.
  • OK - tonight my granddog Lucy was visiting - she a 13 lb Boston Terror (that's what Augie says - she can run him right into the ground) and SHE likes standing on the vibration board, too! So it's not just Augie....
