2-tank valve failure

after only a few short months my newly installed Cavanaugh Type 924N valve has apparently failed.

When I turned on the partially used tank first, and I slowly opened the valve, the "green" display, hesitated and then hit the stops hard, which is differently then it has previously operated. Now even when I disconnect that hose, it remains green.

Is my analysis that the unit has failed correct?

Is there a reliable unit? My search of Amazon has revealed that every mfg has a high infant mortality.
  • It's supplying just fine... but when I shut off the tank valve that the indicator points to, it stays stuck on green. When I initially turned the propane valve on it acted "differently".
  • That propane regulator has a 'back flow prevention device' and so do the pigtail hoses that connect to cylinders.

Does regulator NOT supply propane to your appliances?

Indicator (Red/Green) will stay Green until cylinder pressure drops below 5#
