Have a tt w/30 amp service if i use a dogbone adapter 30-50 amp will it hurt my 30 amp panel in my trailer? park we're in just updated all electric to 50 amp. we are permanent here & need to use the 20 & 30 amp plugs for water heater & florida room, hope I explained this right. Thanks for any & all replies
Your 30 amp panel has a 30 amp MAIN BREAKER who's job is to protect your panel.. And it will do a very good job of it.
So what happens if you use a dog bone..
Best case: the heavier 50 amp PARK wiring delivers better voltage to your RV making things work better and last longer
Worst case (Ods one in several million) A partial short in the shore cord, which as noted is very very highly unlikely causes an overheat of the cord.. I have never seen this happen.
HOWEVER if you use an extension cord and the plug/socket lay in water.. I have seen that happen but that too is rare.
