my new generator, arrived Tuesday
it fits very well on my DIY slide, where my previous champions have resided

very happy after two days of use, 12.4 hours of run time
tested it with the A/C today, worked great no lugging, but outside temps were very mild, supposed to warm up this week end back into the 90's,
so it will get a real test then

today with low amps charging and the A/C running, the voltage measured 123.1vac at the outlets inside the RV

this the 3100i with remote start
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

I found this review by the Professor on the supergen tent a few years back. According to him it knocks the DB of a 3500/4000 down to 61 db from the 68 db it normally runs at. That means it could take the 3100i from its 58-65 DB down to 51-57 DB. That is Honda EU3000is territory.

I spoke to the owner of supergen about the Tent, he said its designed for the non inverter models and 3100 owners would only benefit if the exhaust side was pointed away. Otherwise there is no benefit. I didn't purchase one and am building my own sound proof box although its super quite already.

The newer model will also have the ability to parallel with another 3100i if I remember correctly.

Agreed

All that I could see thats different, is the remote start which adds 26lbs and the price. I think I rather have mine for 650.

We really wanted the 3100i but the altitude will be too much for it, so today we picked up the 3500/4000 with remote start from Cabelas for $429. It's not the upgrade we wanted but it will be nice to have the remote start. I'd be interested to see if the tent makes a difference.

how much of a difference did that supergen tent make. Was thinking of a champion 4000 remote electric start. 68 dB. If that tent works well, it may be the ticket, along with a couple of other noise reducing mods

Latest version of the CPE 3100:

Maybe that's why the former model is priced lower - to clear stock.

Just ordered my Champion 75531i inverter from Overstock.com for 676. Free shipping and no tax. Amazon was almost $800 with tax before the price went up. Now it's almost $900.

So I asked if anyone has used Dynamat or similar product to make this generator quieter than the Yamaha or Honda. First off its pretty quite to begin with and if you want to make it even more quite get one of these. It a generator tent if you will that claims it drops the DB 8-9. Thus making this unit the most quite on the market. I ordered one today and will report back if it made a noticeable improvement. http://supergenproducts.com/shop/supergen-tent/
