AC Help Needed!

The first things I would check are
1 - Is it the circuit breaker going bad?
2 - If not, the motor is likely heating up and drawing too much current. Either everything is clogged and dirty causing it to work too hard, or the bearings are going.

What does the noise sound like? Rumbling? Squeaking? Chattering? Ticking?

Make sure the refer is on gas. Same with the water heater. Then you should be fine.

That noise could be a relay failing. IF so it can cause the motor to suck way more current than it should thus tripping the breaker.....

Problem is you failed to include an MP3 of the noise.

A new circuit board may be on the drawing board.

What is the voltage at the park outlet, in the rig before you turn on the A/C? How low is the voltage going down when the A/C first starts and does it drop down more as the A/C runs during the day? What breaker is tripping 20 AMP A/C or 30 AMP house? Is the breaker hot to touch?

Clean the AC first. Makes it more efficient.

what donn said. plus be advised you cannot run the microwave or a hair dryer/coffe maker/any other large wattage draw device at the same time the a/c is running because the amp draw will exceed 30 amps and trip the breaker

1. IF he is kicking the 20 amp AC breaker, then regardless of the Microwave/wh on will NOT kick the 20 amp AC breaker, the MAIN breaker will kick
2. His description,(if the coils are clean) shows a defective compressor. OR the 3 wire terminals on the compressor are burnt and need replaced. OR,(the noise he hears at trip) is a loose 120 wire nut connection at the power source hook up at the main control. It is arcing and shorting out.
3. How old is the unit?
4. The board is a serviceable part but I doubt your board is defective. Doug

Here is where my circuit board is. Inside the camper, I removed the cover from the AC on the ceiling. Then look inside up there. My circuit board was in plain view and easy to change. I got one from PPL, stuck it in and walla, it fixed my prob. However i do not know about yours. As i foggily recall, the number for the board was printed on the board.

John I Haggerty, you need to specify which breaker is tripping. Is it the 30a pedestal breaker? Is it the 30a breaker in your panel? Is it a 20a breaker that is specific to the A/C unit?

No matter which breaker is tripping, look at other loads on that same breaker.
