Air conditioners

I have seen air conditioners described as"

Roof Air
Ducted roof air
Ducted

Are the "ducted" ones in the basement?
What are the good/bad or each one?
What is the best to get?
  • Hi,

If I were choosing, I would pick ducted roof air. The basement units are often difficult to service should they fail.

much cheaper and easier to just swap in a new roof unit. and you don't have that noise under your bed.
with two roof units you can usually maintain the temp. by just running the one in the area that you aren't
    bumpy

Roof Air = Roof mounted unit with all air entering and leaving at one spot. Noisy as all get out, poor air distribution.

Ducted roof air = Roof mounted unit with air ducted to outlets spread throughout the trailer. Not as noisy and better distribution, some feel they are more prone to freezing up due to ducting often not well done.

Ducted = (usually) Under floor mounted unit ducted throughout the trailer. Others above have commented on these.

  • Thanks for all the information!

I guess I better get good at analizing the weather!

North during the hot season and south when the temperature drops.
