I have 36 235 watt 60 cell panels on my house. 12 feed an Outback battery back-up system with 2 3.6kW inverters and 8 6v golf cart batteries. The other 30 panels feed an SMA 6kW grid tie inverter. - brulazExplorer

12 in series would be 540 volts.
Vmp is 37V or 444V in series.
