Atwood furnace

Yep, that took care of it. Not sure what goes wrong inside a switching valve/regulator, but the store where I bought the replacement said they put a new one on every pre-owned unit they sell.

So back to getting ready for trip South in two weeks. Hope to not need furnace much for a few months, but you never know. We have found, between our fireplace and an add-on Edenpure heater, we can avoid spending a lot on propane most of the time.

I thought I had tried both tanks, but apparently I did not sufficiently. I will replace the switching valve and regulator and report back to the forum.

I had a similar problem with mine. I had cleaned the heat exchanger out and everything else. It would light, just long enough to blow a tease of warm air. Then it would flame out, try 2 more times, then quit. It turned out there was a bit of crappola built up in the burner orifice. I cleaned it out with a welder's tip cleaner, and all is well and good again.

Atwood you access from the outside, Suburban you need to pull the whole furnace out inside and work on them. I'm sure someone will point out the exception to that rule of thumb though. LOL

Thanks, rig is plugged in at home to 30 amp. I can get to these parts from outside I think. Eraser is no problem. I will check later n report back. Have Veterans Day program at grandkids school!

Computer is not sensing a flame, so it cuts gas, but keeps the fan running to vent any fuel out.

Pull off the connection to the computer board and then put it back on. Same thing with the flame sensor. Hopefully all you have is a slight corrosion problem on the connections and this will solve the problem in the short term.

If it does fix it when you got better weather and time take a pencil eraser and very lightly shine up those connections.

If it doesn't fix the problem then you'll be looking at things like a new computer board, flame sensor, or wire to the sensor as possible problems.

One more thing make sure your rig is plugged in. If you have a weak battery the same symptoms will occur.

Yes, it ignites. And burns for 10-40 seconds, then goes off. Blower continues.
