Yes, I have struggled trying to find what actually bent from leaning on door in open position lighting the pilot.
So... I took door apart and added 5 fender washers to the top screw on each side of door. It made up for the 3/4" gap. I used 1" screws instead of the 1/2 which is provided. Works great. Once I figured it out it is a 10 min. Repair.
- firemedic1992ExplorerI disassembled it, didn’t see anything bent so I put it back together and it still won’t stay fully closed.
- guidryExplorerI’ve done that by leaning on the door to light the pilot. Just disassemble then put everything back carefully. Easy fix
- firemedic1992ExplorerYes that part is disassembled in the picture
- ScottGNomadI think I see the problem but it's hard to explain. If you look at your last pic on the right and blow it way up, you can see how the outer most cover of the door is not seated into the slot of the inner door panel. Or maybe you just disassembled that part?

- donn0128Explorer IIThe hinges will have springs to hold them closed. I suspect you hqve a broken spring. Easy fix. Just take the srove out and look.
- ScottGNomadI suspect the door isn't fully seated. I would try removing and then reinserting the door.
- firemedic1992ExplorerIt’s been this way since I bought trailer used 3 years ago, been using a golf putter to push the door closed when in use, looking for ways to fix it
- fj12ryderExplorer IIIIs this a new problem, or one that has persisted from new? If a recent problem, I would agree that it sounds like it was caused by leaning on it a bit too hard. They sure aren't very sturdily built.
