aux diesil tank transfer pump?

If you are going to set up a gravity feed, why not just install a 12 volt veton fuel valve?

We typically stop occasionally at Rest Areas to stretch and do our business. So when we had the RDS gravity feed, DH would flip the lever while stopped and it would refill as we're driving. Did have some leakage that the Ford dealer fixed when he went in for an oil change.

Next truck, we bought the Transfer Flow and paid big bucks to get the automatic pump. Can't say it was worth the extra money, but at least we could monitor fuel gals easier.

Now we have the Titan replacement tank so the bed is free for a TC. Best of all three.

I've always liked Transfer Flow's products. They seem to be well made, plus the fuel gauge was nice, knowing exactly how many gallons one has available.

Have a 100 gallon Transfer Flow and it works great. Love being able to see fuel level in both tanks and seeing when the pump is on. Can drive over 1200 towing without refuelng.

well spoke with dodge service guy, seems aux tanks are severly frowned on but not really voids warranty..
service says they make water?? anyone had any water made by their aux tank? There are many many of these in use. and I see nobody carrying water jugs,,,,,

Because of the metal and the changing of temperatures, a partially filled aux tank can develop condensation on the inside walls of the tank above the fuel line. This is the water that they are talking about developing. If you always keep the aux tank full, you will minimize the surface area for condensation forming.

I have run two aux tanks for going onto 17 years now had paid no attention to the water issue. Have left them virtually empty for 3 months. Never had a problem.

Last year I had a custom made aluminum fuel tank fabricated to hold 15 gallons of fuel (diesel) which is upright and fits up against the front of the bed. I already had toolbox mounted in the bed of the truck which had to moved back 4" in order to mount the new fuel tank. The filler neck is the only thing that sticks up above the bed rail. There is also a rollover vent installed in the top of the tank and a fitting for a manual shutoff valve at the bottom. The 3/8" tubing goes into a fitting that is placed in the truck's filler neck line. My original thought was to use this setup as gravity feed but found it to be really slow. I have since installed a 12vdc fuel pump (Facet model 40131E) in line. This little pump will pump 1 gallon of fuel in 2 minutes. I have mounted a lighted rocker switch on the dash which is connected to the ignition on line. After fabrication and prior to installation I brought the tank to the place that coated the bed of my truck when I purchase it, so the tank is now coated also. I could post photos if necessary.
