Banks Stinger System

I was wondering if anyone has either installed or thought about installing the Banks Stinger System on the Ford Triton V-10 362hp engine? Is it worth the install for the performance gains? Not worth the money?

My friend Butch (aka "Alaskan", RIP Butch) knew Gale Banks. Butch said the 460 Ford was one of those engines that really benefitted from Headers. He also always spelled Banks "Bank$" because of the cost.
I haven't modded our 2-valve V10/4R100 combination, but from what I feel driving it and what I read on Forums, better control of the transmission's shift strategy would be the biggest plus.
Addressing the OP: I've driven the TorqShift 5R110 and it does NOT have the strategy problems our 4R100 does. The TorqShift is already smart as a trick pony. Drove it in two-valve E450 and three-valve F350. Wonderful in both cases.

2 days ago I was parked next to a guy with a complete Banks System on a 2008 V10 F53 (362HP). Because this question comes up often, I had a conversation with my neighbor. He bought the coach new, drove it for 6 months and then installed the Banks Power Pack. He only had one word to describe the difference, "amazing". I'm convinced that Banks products do produce noticeable gains in performance. If you don't see those noticeable gains, then there is something wrong with the install or the state of tune on you RV.
As for "is it worth it". That's a silly question. All boy toys are worth it. GRIN

Thanks for the feedback, this is what I'm looking for, "honest" feedback.

I can't speak for the Stinger, but I had the full Banks, including Transcommand installed on my 310hp V-10, and I was very disappointed. The only thing I can say that was noticeable was the shift pattern was much better. As far as power is concerned - nothing I could notice. I now have a 362HP V-10 that weighs nearly 6K more, and it performs as well as the other one with the Banks. I would never do it again. What I saw was not close to worth the money.
Now, you are going to hear many people who are completely satisfied with Banks.
The issue might be the application. I here people with 460 Fords talk about a big change. It also sounds like Diesel applications under the right conditions make a difference. I think Ford has managed to get about all there is out of the 362 and the newer five speed tranny.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do, and travel safe.
