Batteries One or Two

We have a used 05 Montana Mountaineer 5th wheel and it came with 2 12 volt batteries. They need replacing and since we never boondock I wondered if we really need 2 or would 1 work?

Thanks

  • Thanks for all the input guys. Talked it over with DW and decided to go with two batteries again.

  • Two is always better than one, but based on your anticipated needs, one would work.
  • Potentially one starting or hybrid battery. Lots of amps and very few amp hours. Do you have a healthy starting battery in a vehicle you could swap over and replace with a new battery?

Your slides will definitely work better with two batteries
  • I agree with Kevin, very cheap insurance for what if.........

  • I rarely boon dock anymore but I have suffered through snow storms, landslides/road closure, lighting storms etc which forced me to rely on batteries. In my case an extra type 24 battery cost me about $60 - cheap insurance.
