Battery Dead? No lights

Hi there. I have a 2003 Cougar Fifth Wheel. I was using a space heater and it kicked out my breaker.

I reset the breaker box outside, I reset the breaker panel in my fifth wheel. I reset the GFI. However, I'm still having no power from the batteries or 12V system. All my power outlets work, but most of my interior lights don't work, the fridge has no power, my level reader has no power.

What can I do to fix this? What else do I need to reset, and how do I do it? Please help! Thank you!
  • Check the fuses on the converter.
Check fuses in the DC power distribution panel. Normally located next to the 120 volt circuit breakers behind metal deadfront.

Your shore power powers up the converter/charger unit which produces 13.6VDC to operate your 12V items in the trailer including keeping the battery charged.

If none of the 12VDC items are working then something is disconnected between the converter and the battery and the 12VDC power distribution panel.

The problem could be a tripped circuit breaker feeding the converter/charger unit, blown fuses, between the output of the converter/charger and the 12VDC Distribution panel, and/or a run down battery or blown fuses or bad connections between the battery and the 12VDC distribution panel.

A multimeter will be very useful to troubleshoot the problem here.

Here is a typical 30AMP Wiring configuration that might give you a clue to where to look for the disconnect.
