I need a new battery for the fiver, I only camp with full hookups. I still would like the best longest lasting battery possible. My last Wally world battery only lasted 15 months. Suggestions please. Thanks, Will

I would consider Trojan T-1275 to be one of the best available. They cost about $250.

With that said, I have used WM 29DC and 27DC batteries, made by Johnson Controls, in my boat and camper for years without issue. They last 5-6 years when properly maintained, not over charged or discharged. I have read the WM reviews but have to question if they are protecting their battery from abuse and neglect.

My camper is plugged in year round. The convertor in the camper I have now (WFCO) outputs a constant 13.6V, too high for a continuous, long term float charge. To address this, I put a timer on the battery + post when not camping to charge the battery one hour every three days so not to overcharge and boil out the battery. I generally water and equalize charge them every six months.

I understand it can get frustrating here sometimes. A simple question can get indirect answers or answered with questions. They are just trying to help.

Part of my

I had a picture of one in my shop right above the sign that said

If they didn't like it I pointed to the picture above the sign

Sorry to have sucked you in Paul...

Shhhhhhhh....

Aw shucks you had to go and blow it. I was hoping he'd run his finger down the list to first one with 60 months and order it.

That sounds to good to be true, and what you say doesn't quite jive with this: http://www.rollsbattery.com/rolls-battery-manufacturer-warranty/

Buy the most expensive battery you can find. Then you can amaze your friends by quoting the price you paid.
And learn how to maintain a battery.
And Google "snowflake"

Go -direct- to the ROLLS BATTERY SITE and get a 100% fully guaranteed 5 years of no pro-rate exchange.

It MEETS ALL of the OP's criteria

And it is GUARANTEED to five years length of service life.

My RV Alternators had three three amp 100 PIV diodes in each each unit. When a fuming customer returned for a warranty and I opened up the alternator and found all three blown to pieces...

"This unit saw reversed polarity"

"WHY..." sputter sputter "I installed it myself. And there is no way it was connected backward"

"That's a shame" I explained "Because if a customer admits a boo-boo I'll fix things at cost of parts"

Red Faced "I'll see you in court!"

30-years no court.

Maybe I've not seen-it-all but I am pretty certain I have seen most of it.

You probably killed it. You can do that to any battery.

Otherwise the WM battery is fine.

x2.
Using battery only while on the road, for stand-by emerg break only, any 12V battery will do. He either killed it or it was a lemon. The question about "best battery" is of little importance in this scenario. Reading/learning about battery maintenance will be more productive use of time and money.

I would also think that under- or over-charging a battery due to poor converter would take much longer than 15 months of intermittent use to kill the battery - and to notice this - when battery isn't really used, sitting in standby. But I could be wrong here.

Hi,

The fastest way to commit "battricide" is to under charge the battery while deep cycling it.

The 2nd fastest way is to constantly over charge the battery.

15 months life span with constant plug in, should be a 'hint' that there is a defect in the charging method.

I'm not sure anything is missing lol, I have full hookups at home. The keystone copper canyon 5er is plugged up from time to time as all 6-8 of my previous TT and 5ers have been. I am not sure of type of converter lol. I only asked for best battery . I am 99% my system is functioning properly but I guess asking a simple question has become increasingly difficult on this forum. Some folks can't or won't simply answer the question asked. Thanks anyway.

The OP doesn't want to answer a simple question, so buy the most expensive battery you can find (that will be the best) then go ahead and destroy it again in 15 months.
The best battery will be the one you look after properly.

Do you disconnect the battery when the trailer is not in use?
If not the battery will discharge when the trailer is not plugged in and will kill a battery in a short time.
