Broke dinette table post socket

Hey so quick question. The little dinette table post which goes into a hole in the ground got stuck this evening. I had to pull pretty hard to get the post out and when I did it had broken away the metal socket which it inserts into in the floor. That metal cup has now fallen and is stuck inside part of the frame. Any idea for how to at least somewhat fix this?     To the OP, you need to screw the flange to the floor as you have no way to reach the nut, unless using "T" nuts.

    It will be simple to get the cup out once the upper flange is removed.

    Pull the carpet to see if you have the round or square model- probably the round. Just buy the new round replacement, unscrew the old flange, screw in the new one. Easy peasy.

    I thought the flanges came pre drilled for screws. I would use screws myself.

    Do I just drill holes through the metal floor base to screw it in?

    I thought the flanges came pre drilled for screws. I would use screws myself.

    I'm able to actually lift the carpet up right now so that shouldn't be the problem. Should I attach the new flange to the floor with glue or by bolting it? If I use glue, what kind would be best to glue down to the metal floor?

    I think the after market ones are all with a surface mounted plate over the carpet. don't know if you could slit the existing carpet, install mount, then reglue down carpet.

    Yea I can't really pull it out, think I have to cut it somehow. How did you replace the socket?
