caulking around doors and windows.

I went to a big box store and purchased the caulking tubes of urethane roofing adhesive out of the roofing department. Use blue tape on the window frames and on the body. Lay a thin but large enough bead across the top of the window and down the sides. Using a damp gloved finger smooth the urethane and then strip the tape immediately. It is a clean and permanent fix for your window and door frames. If you need to replace a complete window years down the road the urethane cleans off pretty easy after the window is out.

That might be what I was thinking of.

But it doesn't specifically mention rubber useage, which is what a lot of window seals are made of.

And how about tires ? Since is emphasizes that you need to wipe off the excess maybe it won't be good for tires.

The more I type, the more I think this might not be the product I remember seeing for rubber.

I bought a gallon of Aerospace 303 protectant, need to find where I put it in the shop.

A good entire surface UV protectant is Aerospace 303 used on aircraft surfaces. I use it instead of wax - keeps decals looking new and healthy... Got it at Camping World and O'Riellys:

Haven't given it much thought until just recently.

Someone here mentioned some good stuff in another thread....for use on tires I think....that actually (claims to) put back some of the essential oils instead of just covering things up.

Alas, I screwed up and didn't write it down at the time.
I hope someone else will chime in with that recommendation again.

In the past, I have just used spray silicone applied with a piece of rag, Q-tip or old toothbrush but I suspect that there are better things out there.

That does NOT necessarily mean that anything needs to be done right away to "reseal" the strips.

Get a bright light and put on your strong reading glasses and do an inspection to see how deep the cracks ARE. If they are small and seem to be present only in the exposed part of the seal......you probably would be better off just putting some "protectant" on the seal instead of trying to completely re-seal it.

The most commonly promoted sealers really aren't that good; hopefully someone can tell us what the good ones are.

Built in Aug 2011 as a "2012" model, so I'd say it's 4 years old. I'll give it a more thorough inspection with a fine tuned comb before the rainy season. It's going to be 105F today, too hot still.

To apply the butyl putty tape you first need to remove the item. Thoroughly clean the old off, apply a new roll of tape, reinstal the item. Last winter I did for the first time in 10 years my market lights. Butyl putty tape will usually last for 8 to 10 years.

My two cents, after caulking - the RV stuff is really sticky. Not at all like the bathtub caulk we're so used to.

I'm glad I used blue tape around the edges to keep excess off the coach.
Have a bottle of mineral spirits close by for cleaning up "Oppsies".
