- pianotunaNomad IIIHi Glen,
The reason to change is that the length of the hub is longer on the F-450 than on the E-450. I wanted to increase tire size if at all possible. The widest tire that I can currently use is a 225. I want to go to 235. It is a 4.56 rear end. - 64thunderboltExplorer IIFord did some crazy things. Go to a parts house or call the dealer and compare the part #s
- randallbExplorerWhen it comes to Ford differentials you need the tag number. There will be a tag that identifies which differential you have. It was and still may be for the same model Ford truck to have one of 3 or 4 differentials in it. The tag will be mounted on one of the pumpkin or cover bolts. Get the number and remove all possibilities of wrong parts.
Randy - pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
The problem is that I need to know what to ask for before I ask LOL. Ask the wrong question and the answer will be...a no. - robatthelakeExplorerDon,
Why don't You call or visit a Heavy Duty Repair Shop in Your area. They can tell You what can and can't be done.
Off the top I would say that it will depend on which Rear End is installed on Your Van. There are several possibilities. - evergladesgatorExplorerY'all might want to log on to TheDieselStop.com. Any and all questions can be found and answered there.
