Coach Air Dryer Desiccant Filter

Question

Anybody got any advice on how to get the Desiccant filter off the dryer assembly?  I got it all off the motorhome, and have a big strap wrench, but either the ham fisted mechanic named Bruno over tightened it, or I'm a wimp, but either way I can't get it to budge.  I've got the replacement kit, so don't mind damaging the old filter taking it off.  Any advice?

I used a hammer and chisel the first time I removed mine. Yes I destroyed the old filter.

How about a long piece of pipe over the handle of the strap wrench to increase your torque?

Yaj - Thanks for the tip!  Hammer and chisel, it worked!  Obviously something I need to do more often so it won't be so difficult.  Got it done, thanks again for the tip!
