Consumption dometic freshwell

Hi I have a dometic freshwell 3000. In cooling mode it's supposed to draw 1kw. We tested it in the shop and measured the current. When the compressor switched on it was about 700-800w. But now when I started it at home it climbed up to 2000w over 20 minutes. I only have a Multiplus 2000. Which can deliver 1600w. Is it possible to limit the current draw? What is the real consumption of the AC? Tried to contact dometic support but they didn't respond

Hi, I also checked the manual and it states "cooling capacity" 2700w according to ISO5151. But the current consumption is only given as 6amp at 220v. Which would be about 1300w.i obviously don't know the iso5151 so I went for the current draw.
@wa8yxm thx but it's an indoor unit working with hoses and it's only twice.
@the others no I am all the way 220v

How long has it been since you tested at the shop. and is this an Air Conditioner.

The reason I ask (And you need not answer) Over time on an air conditioner the condenser coils tend to get "Gunked up" Cotton wood is really bad (Trust me on this) but leaves and other fibrous stuff clogs the "Radiator" fins.. And when that happens air can not flow as easily through the radiator fins to cool and condense the refrigerant......

Now you mentioned "Climbs over 20 mintues" Yup. that fits.

When you turn on the AC the system is "Ambient" temp but over time (About 20 minutes) the heat builds in the system. as the heat builds Pressures increase. The Compressor has to work harder and harder.. This type of motor draws more and more current in order to do the work. the amps climb and ...

Well you already know the rest.

Suggestion CLEAN THE BEAST.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

Wondering if you used 120V instead if 240V at the shop to calculate watts???

Dometic lists 2700W cooling, 3000W heating.

Sounds about right according to manual. Could even go a little higher then what you saw. Manual
The Multiplex I looked at is rated 120 volts but the Freshwell is shown as 220-240 volt.
