Direct TV problems-Reciever won't raise the dish
Hi All,
I had earlier asked about a problem many RVer's are facing.... especially those with MotoSat dishes. (MotoSat is out of business) Direct TV will takes away the older RCA receivers and upgrade them with a new unit, except the new unit is no longer capable of locating the satellite, and turns the whole system into a boat anchor!
Well, Direct TV finally said if I could get hold of an old RCA receiver, they would activate the card again.
So I went on EBAY and purchased the exact same model Direct TV had removed, an RCA receiver model number DRD420RE, but when hooking it up, again, it wouldn't raise the satellite dish.
I realize now, maybe sooner than later, I'm going to have to replace the entire system with a Wineguard Traveler dish for $1995.00, but in the meantime, I would like to get this up and running for a little while longer.
Any thoughts? I did make sure the receiver was programmed for a round dish, but I don't see any other pertinent set up information. All the connections seem to be made properly.
Thanks
