Our Dometic microwave model DOTR12CB smoked the high voltage transformer. Being a DIY kind of guy, I attempted to buy a new transformer. Supprise!! I got in touch with the Dometic techs and they told me that model was discontinued and there were very few parts available and the transformer was not available. 6 years old and not replacement transformer available? Pretty sad. I did find one and am back up and running. If you need appliance parts I would strongly suggest appliancefactoryparts.com They found me one and it matched exactly. No thanks to Dometic.

Having a limitation on appliance parts support makes sense to me. Dometic knows what the average age of death is for their reefer. It bounces down the road, sits unused for extended periods of time and is in one of the most hostile appliance environments known. Their decision to not supply hard parts like a transformer is based on not letting you throw good money after bad. They would rather have you mad at them for not selling you a part than for you ending up with 50% or 60% of the cost of a new appliance in a reefer that dies 6 months later. Again, they are damned if they do, damned if they don't.

That's not really a cheap microwave- it's an over the range model with light and rangehood. The trick is finding out who actually made it.

I had a similar problem with a Sharp Micro/convection Oven. Somehow I managed to screw the Turntable . Melted the part that connects the Motor to the Turntable through the Stainless Steel Oven .
Sharp said no parts.available.
I did some research and found the correct part for under $15 Delivered.
Took all of half an Hour to install.
I am pretty sure it came from the same place as the OP!

Another thought...A 6 year old cheapo microwave? In a rig we use to have, I replaced the entire microwave for about $70...found one on Amazon that would fit. Removed the trim, removed the old unit, plugged in the new one, replaced the trim...done.

Older, inexpensive appliance are not worth fixing.

But, glad you were able to find the parts and are happy with the outcome.
