tpi, no offense was meant.....chinese cheapy scooters are NOT quality Onan or Honda equipment.
cat converters and FI with all the related parts will add to the weight of anything they are installed upon as compared to a simple carb. Weight now is a common complaint of any genny over 2000w.
Along with the weight comes the designing, engineering and cost of such items.
Sure some super lightweight alloy like unobtainium could be used to compensate the additional weight but that will come with a cost too.
You need to remember AMERICANS are building these gennies...Americans require a good salary..those good salaries allow those said employees to ability to purchase toys such as RVs.
Broader selection requires TONS more $$ in inventory for retailers and TONS more $$ for manufacturers....it just isn't that easy for any company to produce something for everyone....any company that tries that will not survive, nor will their retailers.
While your stuck on "clean"....I'd suggest doing some investigation on just how "clean" Honda is at the present time...anything that can run the hours they do on such little fuel is already clean.
Cat converters make tons of heat...heat is a BIG enemy of an air cooled engine. So some real thought and evaluation would be required to get you that cat conv on your new genny.
I'm not trying to be argumentative...just realistic
can I ask what type RV or tow vehicle you have? (yes Im curious to how "green" it is)
