Doghouse...HOT!

In my MH there is a doghouse containing the engine between the driver and passenger seats. When the engine heats up it gets very hot around the legs area up front. I took it off to look at it and it only has very thin insulation with a thin layer of tin or aluminum foil over top of it.
I am wondering if it would be wise to put foil tape around on the inside to prevent so much heat from coming through it into the cab. The tape is very sticky. Will the glue on the back of the tape hold up under this kind of extreme heat? Has anyone out there tried this?

A lot of people (myself included when I had my gasser) covered the engine side of the doghouse cover with a 3rd party insulation product made for high temps.

Check out Dynamat, B-quiet, and others. Keeps the heat down and reduces a bit of the noise.

When I drove my folks conversion van for a while, I too had noticed the dog house getting very hot... small block 350 crammed in there without much breathing room I guess.

never bothered to do anything about it, other than put the vents on "floor" and turn down the temp.

seemed to only happen at highway speed, that big bus didn't like doing 70-75+ mph on the expressway.
