I tried the hair dryer method. No compressor came on. This is on an old unit I have that worked perfect a few years ago when I took it off. I get the temp sensor wire hot, but is the coolant too cold on a 35 degree day for compressor to come on? Seems like maybe the temp wire is not the only deciding factor. I'd like to show a buyer that the AC works if he buys in the winter.
How do I trick it on?
Coolant in the summer when running would be hot on one side and cold on the other, now it is cold on both.
That's a good one, coolant too cold:@ So, no the coolant cannot be too cold to get the compressor to come on. Either the compressor is locked up or your Start capacitor and/or wiring to the compressor is bad. Doug
