I had the awning fully extended and was setting it up with support poles. I did the right side (facing the rig) and had just started tightening the left side. While I was doing that, my son was hanging from the strap on the first/right side. As I tightened the ratchet strap, we heard a pop/bang type noise and the awning unrolled a bit more (to that over-extended point).
Now, when I push the switch for the awning, I can hear the motor engage and turn but the roller tube doesn't turn at all.
Here's a video of the symptoms:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQdjn7di_5sWhen I disassembled the roller tube from the arm on the motor-side, I didn't feel any resistance when the piece that should connect to the motor and ultimately the torsion spring on the other/left side.
Has anyone dealt with this?
I know the next step is to drill out the rivets for the end cap on the motor side and start pulling things apart. But I just haven't done it yet.
