My Dometic Americanna, model RM 2551 is in need of a new freezer door. It is a small plastic interior door and was forced breaking at the hinge . I found Dometic has the outer door shell, which is all I need, for only $93. I am kinds use to being "hosed" on RV parts but this one took me by surprise as the part is simply plastic. I would just put a hinge on but not sure what is inside the freezer shelf. Anyone have any thoughts on repair solution or a cheaper source? I am in Portland Oregon and do not know of any RV salvage yards

The hinge is separate on that- I've replaced a ton of hinges, but never the door. Are you sure that's what you need?

Price the aggregate total price for individual pieces for a new pickup and hello $1,000,000+ dollars. Replacement parts profit is a MAJOR income source for some companies.

After looking- it looks like the design has changed a bit, but that $93 is for the entire door with gasket- outside shell, inside shell, gasket and insulation are not available separately.

All in all, $93.00 isn't a bad price. Might be better off buying a new refer and using the old one for a parts donor.

Possible RV salvage yard item. Could take hours to track one down, then it may not fit or is damaged when you receive it.;)

The piece where the hinge pin goes is broke off. I tried a few different repair jobs. Did not like any of them. I am considering velcro

At work the refrigerator everyone uses the freezer door was blocked by ice because the frig wasn't defrosted. Someone force the door open which broke the plastic hinge pin that stuck out from the right side of the door. Sounds similar to what happened with yours. A couple of us "shade tree" mechanics were able to use a large screw to replace the hinge pin. We drilled a hole in the plastic door where the hinge pin was and then inserted the screw, used some epoxy to set the screw in place. Put the door back in place and it's almost as good as new.

Yes sadly it is the door I need as the plastic fitting for the hinge is broke out on one side. Door got forced. The door part number fits many models. Surely there is a dead fridge somewhere with a door to sell?
