Dometic RM3762 Refrigerator not working on LP

I've read tons of posts on problems related to refrigerators not staying working on LP so I think I have the problem narrowed down.
Dometic RM3762
Control board 3851005-01
Symptoms
1. Works great on shore power (110vac)
2. On LP it lights immediately but shuts down after about 45 seconds. Will relight after a few minutes but again shuts down after 45 seconds. Does this three times and then the display flashes an error code which is normal operation if the control board does not detect the flame.
3. Thermocouple registered around 28mV but I replaced it anyway, new one registers about the same when flame is lit.
4. Cleaned the gas jet, burner, and chamber. Flame is full and all blue.
5. Removed control board and inspected for corrosion, visibly bad components, etc. All appears good.

Everything points to a defective control board but before I cough up lots of money for a replacement I just wanted to see if any of the experts here had some ideas. Apparently the RM3762/3962 models use a board that is not that popular (3851005-1), is not available from Dinosaur and therefore the price is a bit high, about $170 is the lowest I've found so far.

Questions:
1. Could it be anything other than the control board? I measured the thermocouple voltage at the board contacts and it was ~28mV with flame lit.
2. Has anyone ever repaired a control board? Are there schematics available for these boards.
3. Does anyone know where to get a replacement board cheaper than $170? Are there any shops that deal in used parts?

Thanks in advance!
  • Yes, you did the right thing. Replaced the Electrode first even tho it tested good. The Electrode flame signal on these models is in the main circuit board and will require a new board to fix your problem. Doug
  • I think a new board sounds reasonable here. Before you take the plunge you might make sure the thermocouple solder points on the old board are not cracked. I would probably remelt them as a last ditch effort.
