Dometic Toilet (resolved)

The toilet wont hold water tried the vasoline trick didn't work, made sure it's clean could it just be the seal, this thing is only 2 years old I would think the seal would last longer than that. Turns out that the valve has a little indentation about 6" down below the valve and it slipped out of that. Thanks everyone.
  • What Dometic do you have? The 310 has a seal that can be replaced in 10 min or less, no disassembly. Ck utube

    That is funny there....

    Stinks after a while too.
  • Mineral oil works well for this purpose. Dirt cheap. Usually find it in the pharmacy section as it is also used as a laxative.
  • Never use a petroleum based product like Vaseline. Plumbers silicone is preferred. We put olive oil in ours when ever it's going to sit. Camco sells a product for toilet seals.
  • Try peeing in it and not flushing. Pee is thicker than water, it may hold. you can take care of the smell next.
