Dump handles

What's wrong with this picture?

Here's a "clue":

The other one is somewhere along the road. Second trip with our new Coleman. I had no idea these just screw on, threaded, like a gun cleaning rod. Luckily my second was literally hanging on by a thread when we arrived at the RV dump. Easy enough to screw on each dump valve and get 'er done.

I found an extension kit on Amazon that should give me a replacement. Better price than just a longer handle and saved about $9 shipping with Prime. Some of the reviews recommended using Loctite on the threads. I'm thinking mine will ride in a storage compartment until I need them.

See?? This is yet another reason NOT to maintain your dump valves properly -- just let the crud build up and solidify, so the rods can't work themselves loose. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks, Doug.

I can't see a nut, just threads on the shaft inside the bottom lining, which I don't want to cut any more. I'll likely just leave them off and thread 'em on when needed. Easy enough to do.

Maybe another new owner will see this thread and not lose one like I did. Mine came fully equipped with 2 from the dealer.

The bottom of my previous toy hauler wasn't enclosed. 2 valves/handles and never a problem...

Maybe they only put one on and you are supposed to move it from one valve to another when you want to dump. Then you are supposed to remove it and store it with your hose. ๐Ÿ™‚

The concrete is cracked behind that dump pipe. On the right side.:W
