- myredracerExplorer IISorry to hear that.
MOV = metal oxide varistor. explanation
Anything that is 120 volt with electronics in it (fridge, ex.) and 120 volt anything that was turned on at the time (AC unit, ex.) will almost certainly be dead. You *might* get lucky on something, but not usually.
It's unfortunate that you did not have a Progessive Industries EMS unit.
Another thread on the same issue from last week: http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/27798372/srt/pa/pging/1/page/1 - sequoia805ExplorerUnfortunately it was my mistake not a Park. So far it looks like 1 TV and a microwave are toast. The converter is working Refrigerator and both air conditioners were off at the time and are still working. I replaced a fuse in the DVD player and that works.
The only positive I see so far is that I have had to dig into many areas of the camper and have learned a lot.
Peg Leg,
This may be a stupid question but what is a MOV?
Thank you for the responses. - Peg_LegExplorerThe microwave could have internal protection. Years ago my folks had one that had a MOV and a fuse. When a voltage spike hit the MOV it shorted to ground and blew the fuse. It's worth opening up and looking for any damage it the area where the power comes into the cabinet.

- ScottGNomadYou need to replace everything you fried.
- Nearly everything that was 120 volts and connected during the 240 incident is more then likely toast.
Microwave, converter, if equipped, ac units if they were on, refer if on automatic or 120 volt, for examples.
Error at home by you or in park? - stickdogExplorer

Just bought a 04 NuWa 04 hitchhiker 5th wheel and accidentally ran 240 into electrical system and now a number of things no longer work.
The Dometic DOTRM15B convection/microwave will not work. I replaced the main fuse and still nothing...anything else suggested?
Your fried!
