Even More About Tires....Question for the Experts

It is time to purchase new tread for the C. Been shopping around at prices and it seems I need to make a decision first. So, I thought I would throw it out and get input....here it is:

It appears the option is to go with a higher priced assuming higher quality tire or go with a lower priced, possibly lower quality tire. Remember putting this on a Motorhome C-Class. The thought is that if you won't really wear the tread off of them and will have to change them in 5 years anyway why spend the money on the higher priced tires to watch them rot on the axles?

Thoughts?

  • Since I think the odds of a blowout are lower with a non-Chinese, high priced tire, I go that way. Blowouts often cause damage, and sitting along side the road awaiting RV Roadhelp is not my idea of how to spend a vacation.

The quality of tire that one buys depends on how many miles one will put on them in over say five years. If one is just going to put say a couple of thousand a year on them I would go with a lower priced tire , but if one is going to be putting eight thousand or more per year go with a better tire.
